Often referred to as “small t” trauma are chronic interpersonal experiences that may occur throughout childhood — such as ongoing criticism, emotional neglect, family conflict, or feeling persistently unseen or unsafe. This talk will provide an overview of the causes and signs of small “t” trauma, and help us identify when a child or adolescent may be struggling and could benefit from additional support.

The Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola offer an distinctive way towards the process of healing and reconciliation. Working through these various spiritual movements which has been instilled in these exercises, the individual participant would begin to open up to himself or herself to gain greater sense of self-awareness from the greater perspective of human and divine love and forgiveness. The presentation will showcase these spiritual movements towards the process of healing and reconciliation.
Over the three evenings, Fr. Hung Pham, SJ will help participants in recounting each of their life journeys in the light of love and gratitude, in examining how Jesus, the Divine Healer, heals and reconciles others to themselves and their community, and in moving participants towards the grace of active compassion.
